Iyana's coal asset is located in the Eastern Highveld Coalfield, a proven producing region within South Africa's Karoo Supergroup. The Highveld hosts well-established multi-seam bituminous coal deposits historically supplying Eskom's power fleet, Sasol's synfuels operations, and export markets via Richards Bay Coal Terminal.
South African coal remains a globally traded commodity, prized for its calorific value and low-cost delivery into Asian and European power and industrial markets. Metallurgical grades support steelmaking, while thermal grades continue to underpin baseload electricity generation across emerging economies.
